Bad Blankenburg
Immediately beside the old Iron Curtain formed by the River Saale (with Bayern to the left and Thuringen to the right), the track of a long-abandoned horse-drawn narrow-gauge railway - linking paper mills in Bad Blankenburg with the nearby standard-gauge railway at Blankenstein - still survives as a footpath on 8th July 2013.
