The Nene Valley Railway Diesel Gala weekend on 6 October included preserved 47401, now named North Eastern. This locomotive was the first of the Brush Type 4s, (later Class 47s) and entered traffic on 28th September 1962 as D1500 at Finsbury Park depot in North London. A total of 512 of these locomotives were built for BR between 1962 and 1968.
