View north at the junction of the A7 and the B709 (left) in April 2014, showing the former Heriot station building, now a private residence. Opened in 1848 the building, which once incorporated the village post office, stood to the north of the level crossing opposite the staggered down platform. A signal box was located between the station building and the crossing itself with a small goods yard and cattle dock on the up side to the north. (Photographed shortly before demolition.)
