The North Eastern Railway Association May walk 'rolls' into West Auckland MPD on May 3rd 2014, part way through a Shildon, Brusselton, West Auckland, South Church, Black Boy, Shildon ramble. The landscape has changed radically here since closure in the 60s. Only a surviving Gas Holder in the vicinity allows tie in to old maps. Sadly c 55 years too late to hear the roar of three BR standard moguls on a west bound coke train, heading for Stainmore Summit.
