Edmonton

I was grateful to the crew of preserved Streetcar 33 when they stopped to allow me to take this picture, looking across the Edmonton High Level Bridge, from the rear cab. Public tramcar services operated until 1951 but when rails were relaid in 1979 only a single track was put in place where once there were three. Just like its Tyneside namesake, pedestrians and traffic use the lower deck of the bridge below the tramway.
