Carlisle
EE Type 4 40012 (formerly D212) at Carlisle with an up WCML train in August 1979. Withdrawn from main line service by BR in February 1985 the locomotive was reinstated 3 months later as departmental 97407 for use on the Crewe area remodelling project. After final withdrawal in April 1986 the loco was purchased for preservation in 1988. See image 23791.
