Westerland (Sylt)
218 434 and 218 221 stabled at Westerland (Sylt) on a sunny but bitterly cold November day in 2005. Westerland is still something of a stronghold for the class, which works the intensive car-carrying shuttle service from Niebuell on the mainland and also Inter-City services from Hamburg. Back in 2005 they handled the regional trains as well, but these have since been taken over by the Nord-Ostsee-Bahn, albeit still using hauled stock.
