Fakenham East

On Saturday 21st April 1979, Class 105 DMUs returned to Fakenham East station for one last day after an absence of almost 15 years. The train was a railtour named the “Fakenham Flyer”. The passenger service was withdrawn in 1964 and, as is evident from the photo, the platform could only accommodate one two-car unit. Total closure of this section of the line came in 1980 and the site was later transformed into a housing estate.
