A Metrolink service departs for Manchester and the signal is immediately cleared for an inbound tram to enter Altrincham's Platform 1. The tracks on the left of the tram are the Network rail lines running through Platforms 3 and 4 and just ahead of the tram is the occasional use link between the two systems.
