In the summer of 1975 it was still possible to do a rewarding steam shed 'bash' in the Ruhr industrial heartland of the then West Germany. I had a guide produced by the NELPG which gave directions to reach the sheds and this proved most useful, aided by the typical ex Prussian Railways spherical water tanks which proclaimed a shed's existence from afar. Oberhausen Osterfeld Süd was one such shed visited on the afternoon of Saturday 30th August 1975, and here we see a group of class 50 2-10-0s clustered outside the shed, all in steam although it is unlikely they would move again until early on the following Monday morning. 051.225 is prominent while 050.232 stands behind and 052.545 has its water replenished on the left.
