J and J Hay Shipyard
View west at Kirkintilloch's slipway, formerly of the J and J Hay Shipyard. This view was taken was before reinstatement of a basin (beyond the slip) at Kirkintilloch with the re-opening of the canal. The new dock has a different footprint to the original which had two basins. The Monkland and Kirkintilloch Railway terminated at the basin which was located to the distant left. The slipway shown here has received a huge makeover.
