View south, in 1988, of the junction where the sidings for Pressed Steel left the Paisley and Barrhead District Railway. A loop was retained on the 'main line' at the junction which meant a stub beyond the point of divergence was retained. This had been the junction for the Inkerman Brick Works and before even that this area was served by the G&SWR's Linwood branch on a different alignment. The factory was taken over in the 1960s and expanded by Rootes becoming the car factory's North Plant. The photograph was taken at the time of demolition of the North Plant. [Ref query 32183]
