The monotony of the daily commute used to be slightly relieved by seeing what was in the yard at Partickhill. In latter days this was mostly engineering trains, as seen in this 1987 view. The yard had been re-ballasted and a secure area set up, probably for use with the Yoker resignalling trains. In the 1970s I recall tank wagons (perhaps en route to Bowling?) and burning piles which may have been from wagon disposal.
