RNAS Longside

Deep in the forest at Lenabo, Aberdeenshire, is the trackbed of the railway running north from the the WW1 Royal Naval Airship Station to meet the GNSR Maud - Peterhead line near the site of Longside station. RNAS Longside became Operational in 1917, providing patrols across the North Sea and was rail-served from the start of construction.
