Farnworth
At Farnworth station the new up platform is taking shape on the revised alignment on 17 July 2015. The track has been slewed left towards the Up platform and then right to enter the Down tunnel. This is to allow the Down platform to be demolished and then rebuilt on the new alignment with the re-bored twin track tunnel.
