A portion of a stereo image of Edinburgh Canal Street station (called Princes Street after 1862) viewed from the east. The left portion of this image - where the terminus's station building stands, is now part of Waverley station, although that station's lines are at right angles to those seen here. The right portion became Waverley Market. A tightly curved line ran from the portal of the Scotland Street Tunnel to join the Edinburgh and Glasgow line. Canal Street itself became the 'in' ramp to Waverley station. Canal Street station and the tunnel were replaced by the lines via Easter Road. [Date unknown, possibly a GWW image.]
