Clydesdale Steelworks had just ceased dispatching pipes to Imperial Steelworks by rail when this was taken in mid 1987 - although the track both here and at Imperial remained shiny for some reason. The view looks north towards Mossend in 1987. The line to Ravenscraig No 3 is to the left and beyond that the mainline. The Clydesdale Works were off to the right. Pipes were produced by the Pilger Process here and finished at Imperial.
