Sandilands Viaduct

Sandilands Viaduct formerly crossed the River Clyde near Lanark. The massive stone abutments of this bridge still stand. This 2005 view looks south towards Sandilands. George O'Hara described this as 'the impressive bow-string girder Sandilands viaduct' in his 'Scottish Urban and Rural Branch Lines'. The river was crossed by six girders and the intermediary piers have been removed.
