Wellwood Pit No 2
View east at the west end of a line from Muirkirk Ironworks to the coal and iron pit at Nether Wellwood (seen here). This private line ran from Muirkirk station to Kames Colliery and on to this pit.
A short lived ironworks existed at Nether Wellwood in the 1730s.
