Whifflet East Junction
At Whifflet South Junction (in the background) the Gartsherrie North Junction - Coatbridge Central - Whifflet extension of the Garnkirk and Glasgow Railway (with the extension, it was renamed as the Glasgow, Garnkirk and Coatbridge Railway) met the Wishaw and Coltness Railway just south of where it began at Whifflet East Junction where it met the Monkland and Kirkintilloch Railway, seen in the foreground here. The closed RB Tennents works to the left were being demolished in 2001.
