Whitby
BR Sulzer Type 2 D7628 waits in the Network Rail platform, normally used by Northern Rail services, at Whitby Town station ready to lead the second, early afternoon, 'Santa Special' to Glaisdale on 13 December 2015. BR Standard 76079 was connected at the rear to provide extra propulsion and steam heating, also to head the return working back to Whitby. There are no Sunday workings to Whitby during the winter period, which allowed 'Santa Special' workings to operate to Glaisdale on three weekends.
