Parton (Cumbria)
A DMU heading north from Parton, Cumbria, shortly after leaving the station in April 1972 with a Whitehaven to Carlisle service. The line in the foreground, which had latterly provided a rail link to Harrington Colliery, was closed completely the following year. [Ref query 2160]
