Accrington

An aerial image of Accrington station looking west, probably taken in the 1950s. It clearly shows the triangular layout that was in place until 1966 when the line to Stubbins and Bury closed. The south to west chord had no platforms but passed by the goods shed. The surviving Burnley to Blackburn line runs from the bottom right hand corner through the station to the middle right of the picture - everything else has gone. Photographer unknown.
