Just under a mile south of Abbotsford Ferry the Selkirk branch crossed the Tweed on its way to Lindean. The railway bridge is long gone see image 57798 but the remains of the piers still provide a base for anglers from time to time. This scene, looking south west at Ettrickfoot on a sunny August morning in 2016, shows the remains of the northernmost pier being put to use for such a purpose. Straight ahead is the Ettrick Water, which joins forces with the Tweed at this point. The Selkirk branch closed completely in 1964.
