A 1988 image of Thomas Muir's scrapyard at Thornton showing on the left, amongst other derelict equipment, Grant Ritchie 0-4-0ST 272/1894, which languished there for many years after its working life in the Fife Coalfield. In 2016 the loco returned to service at the Ribble Steam Railway see image 56443 after a high quality restoration there. The fate of the unidentified boiler (apparently a Marshall portable engine, according to Sandy Garden) and the submarine alongside No.272 are not known.
