Loanstone Sidings
The Peebles Railway crossed the B7026 Auchendinny – Leadburn road at Loanstone, half a mile from Pomathorn station. On the east side of the crossing (behind camera) were two agricultural sidings. View is south west over the site of the crossing towards Pomathorn in 2016, with a garage now occupying the trackbed. The fence on the right is supported by one of the original gateposts and beyond that is the former crossing box, standing in front of the refurbished gatekeeper's cottage. The Pentland Hills can just be seen in the centre background. The line closed completely in 1962.
