Sudbury

Visitors to Sudbury station in the 1970s rarely bothered about its minimal and decaying passenger facilities. It was miracle enough that there was still a train service. Forty years later, all had changed. The intending traveller was by then greeted with clean premises, floral displays, cycle racks, plenty of information and free newspapers. Temptation was in the form of fresh ground coffee and bacon “sarnies” for £2.50. Very possibly, the table and chairs constitute the first class lounge.
