Ordsall Chord
Bridges over the Irwell. The horizontal grey beam on the left is the start of the new bridge that will carry the Ordsall Chord over the river. On the right however is the original Stephenson bridge of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway. The missing parapet and cleaner stone was due to a later bridge being connected to it and only having recently been removed during the Ordsall Chord work.
