The east end of Roxburgh Viaduct looking west to the station. Site of 'The Great Escape' see image 17963. After singling of the line in 1933 the westbound track was lifted, except between the east end of the viaduct and Wallace Nick where the eastbound was lifted instead; the retained line gave access to Heiton Siding. Thus at the west end of the viaduct the line was on the north side but at the east end it had crossed to the south side.
