The remains of Rome Street Junction in May 2002, some nineteen years after damage to the bridge over the River Caldew had resulted in final closure of the Carlisle goods lines. View is south east from Rome Street Bridge. The route to Upperby and London Road is to the left, with Currock Jct to the right. On this particular Sunday the surviving leg of the former triangle of lines is occupied by an eastbound engineer's train hauled by EWS 37668.
