Dava
Dava looking north from the southbound platform early in 1994. The trackbed has overgrown somewhat since. The stations at Grantown, Dava and Dunphail had extremely long platforms and long loops, which give away that these were former mainline stations. A signalman acquaintance worked there, I asked him what he recalled of it; the smell of peats burning, drifting out over the station, long cold winter silences between trains and bright stars.
