Trackside photography in close proximity to watertroughs required judgement and agility - for reasons well illustrated in this shot of Black 5 45360 approaching at speed on Strawfrank Troughs with scoop down and tender overflowing. The date is 17 July 1965 and the train is a Crewe - Aberdeen relief... (and the answer is yes, but it could have been a lot worse..)
