Tain station looking west at the main building from the former turntable's pit in 1994. The pit is a reminder of the local service from Inverness. Tain Shed was located south of the station on the east side of the line. This was the third turntable; the first was on approach to the original single road shed, the second was located in the goods yard to the north of the station (the shed was replaced with a two road version) and the third was on the east side of the station as seen here (60 ft).
