Loanhead
Following closure of Loanhead station in 1965 the old goods yard was taken over as a works compound by Midlothian Council. As part of recent changes within the yard the original wooden goods shed (see image 13631) has been replaced by a larger, more modern structure, seen here on 24 August 2017. The pleasant surprise is that the short length of surviving track terminating at a buffer stop within the compound has been left in situ.
