Calderbank Colliery Signal Box
EMU 320303 on a Whifflet service passes the site of the former Calderbank Colliery Signal Box and junction for the colliery sidings (to the left). Even before electrification a year previously, almost no trace of either could be seen and new housing has since been built the site of the sidings. The colliery site itself became part of Calderpark Zoo, with the 224 yard Calderbank Colliery Tunnel presumed sealed during the development of the Zoo, and possibly since infilled.
