A real tangle or railways. On the right, just out of frame, is Byrehill Junction. The photograph is taken from Blacklands Junction looking east. The Kilwinning to Byrehill line runs on an embankment from left to right in the distance. On the left was the Blacklands Junction to Doura line, at a lower level, which passed under the Kilwinning to Byrehill line. Stobbs Junction was where the Bogend Pit and Misk Colliery No 1 branch met the Doura branch having passed under the Blacklands to Byrehill line. Eglinton Iron Works was just beyond the Kilwinning to Byrehill embankment. And all that is before mentioning the Lanarkshire and Ayrshire behind me ...
