Brackenhills
Looking towards Kilbirnie across the abutments of the bridge over the
Powgree Burn to the west of Brackenhills station on the Giffen -
Kilbirnie branch of the Lanarkshire and Ayrshire Railway. Beyond this
point the line is completely obliterated, bridges and abutments removed,
cuttings infilled and embankments removed. Visited on a frosty winter
day when access is easier and the bridge is not hidden by foliage. The
track was probably lifted around 1950.
