So good they named in twice; Armadale's less than vital Gaelic translation. Less cynically, Armadale probably has more claims to the Gaelic treatment than most central belt towns as it was named (or renamed) after an estate on Skye. Presumably the name sounded more romantic than the original Barbauchlaw. Not difficult.
