Taormina-Giardini
The Sicilian coastal railway around Taormina reminded me very much of Dawlish. The station serves elevated Taormina and the coastal resort of Giardini-Naxos. This view, taken from the public gardens in Taormina, shows an articulated FS656 electric loco taking the Syracuse portion of a train to Rome northwards to Messina where it will join coaches from Palermo on the train ferry before continuing northwards. 1st June 2018.
