A pair of 20s near Niddrie West Junction with empty coal hoppers. By this time, the Niddrie West - Monktonhall Junction was reduced to single line working (note the rusty line to the left which was lifted in 1976). The remaining line from Monktonhall closed in 1983. In the background is Newcraighall Colliery, closed in 1968.
