Eastriggs MOD

A rail level crossing at MoD Eastriggs on 30 June 2014. The
2 ft (610 mm)
narrow gauge railway
was used to move materials and supplies around the sites. The network, which
had 125 miles of track, employed 34 engines. The
Ministry of Supply began
using Eastriggs in the 1930s for ammunition storage, with ammunition transported from storage bunkers within the site by the
narrow-gauge system.
