Players Road Level crossing
From a point close to the site of the former Stirling loco shed, a short branch once curved away eastward to serve a carpet factory and the MOD ordnance depot at Forthside. The branch was still in occasional use for the latter until the 1980s. This photo, taken in August 1985 from alongside the former Templetons carpet factory (later Stirling Enterprise Park), is an eastward view along the branch towards the level crossing on Players road and the MOD depot beyond. In the 2000s, this part of the track bed was used to divert Players road along a new alignment from the level crossing and through the former station goods yard to join up with Shore road.
