In Stirling, south of the Kerse road bridge, there used to be four industrial sidings. On the down side was a siding for the Craigs brewery. On the up side were, in order, sidings for the Springkerse chemical fertilizer store, a grain store owned by the millers Robert Walls and Sons (later a listed building), and the Cape Insulation works (later renamed Superglass). This photo shows the gated siding for the fertilizer store in August 1985, some time after the associated storage facility had been demolished and shortly before the siding was lifted after years of disuse. The site was later developed for occupation by a Ford dealership.
