The first thing that caught my eye on this locomotive on static display at the Kalamunda History Museum was the red diamond plate on the side of the cab. It transpired that the loco was built by Dubs & Co in 1897, works number 3502. It is a G Class 4-6-0, which had been designed by Beyer Peacock for Western Australia Government Railways. The loco was stored by the railway in 1966 and withdrawn in 1968 following which it was cosmetically restored to be a static exhibit.
