Thorpe Bay

357 032 with a C2C service from London Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness via Basildon arriving at its penultimate stop at Thorpe Bay on 11th March 2014. The LTSR reached what is now Southend Central in 1856 but was not extended to Shoeburyness until 1884. However, it was not until 1st July 1910 that the station seen here was opened on the 1884 section and for its first few weeks it was known as Southchurch-on-Sea but was quickly renamed Thorpe Bay on 18th July of the same year.
