Bridge over footpath in the grounds of Alexandra Palace ('Ally Pally' as it has been known to generations of Londonders ever since it opened in 1873), that carried the former railway line into and out of Alexandra Palace terminus and closed in 1954. Had World War Two been delayed by only three or four months, the pre-war electrification scheme would have been fully completed and LUL Northern Line tube trains would now be running over this bridge and through the Alpine-like settings of the north London suburbs of Crouch End and Muswell Hill and passengers would not give them a second's thought. Muswell Hill Viaduct south of the former station of that name also survives and is now part of the Parkland Walk footpath and can be walked across, giving great views from north London down to the city and beyond to south London. But they would have been a lot nicer from a train. This photograph is on a very snowy 20th December 2010 and the snow lasted long enough to make 2010 a White Christmas in London.
