Glasgow Central
The Edinburgh portion of the Lowland Caledonian Sleeper arriving almost unnoticed at platform 2, Glasgow Central, on the inaugural night of the new Mk.5 sleeper stock while attention is focussed on the recently arrived Glasgow portion of shiny new coaches on platform 10. There were planned diversions of the Sleepers via the East Coast Main Line that evening, but unfortunately it was the unplanned signalling failures at Cobbinshaw near Carstairs that made the national news with the resulting long delays to both south and northbound sleepers on their launch night.
