East Lancashire Railway train from Bury Bolton Street to Rawtenstall passing the disused Stubbins station, looking back south towards Bury, on 5th April 2016. Despite a salient of modern housing quite close to this former station, it has rather surprisingly not been revived for heritage services. Just south of the station, the former main line to Accrington diverged and passed by the station but without any platforms. This closed on 5th December 1966, another victim of the infamous Beeching cuts.
