A Helensburgh service draws to a stop at Bathgate on 18 June 2019. Unusually the station signs here do not bear a Gaelic version of the name even though it is accepted that the name is Celtic in origin. Meanwhile names that are clearly English or Scots (like Kirknewton) get a specious Gaelic translation. Absurd.
