Snape Goods station was the terminus of a short branch from Snape Junction, near Saxmundham, and the surviving station building is seen here in July 2019. The line never carried passenger trains and closed in 1960 after a life of 101 years. Most branch traffic was conveyed to and from Snape Maltings and rail wagons were propelled through the arch in the background to be shunted around the Maltings complex by horses. The Maltings is now a well-known concert venue but other old buildings there have been converted into retail or catering outlets and residential properties.
